Our Core Programs

Initiative #1 - Study Center

Providing consistent educational support and nourishment to underprivileged children.

Locations & Activities

  • Locations: Aminjikarai & Thiruverkadu, Chennai

  • Beneficiaries: 75+ students

  • Activities:

    • Daily evening tuition classes led by experienced teachers

    • Nutritious dinner served every evening

    • Weekend heritage classes in association with Chinmaya Mission

    • Summer Camps featuring culture, life skills (embroidery, tailoring, crafts)

Milestones

  • 2018: Began with 20+ students on a house terrace in Shenoy Nagar, Chennai

  • 2019 - 2021: Moved to temple premises; 50+ students, equipped with tables and chairs. Spread to multiple schools to propagate our culture and traditions.

  • 2021–Present: Operating full-fledged centers with 4 teachers and meal programs with 75+ students.

    • 2023: Additional center in Thiruverkadu reached 20+ children (currently not operational)

  • 2025 - Present: Support for Sree Gurukulam 

    • Sree Gurukulam, led by Vinodji and his wife—both with 10+ years of CBSE teaching experience—has been established to serve children across 10+ rural villages near Chenglepet, Chennai.

    • They have voluntarily relocated to this rural region to build an authentic Gurukulam-based learning environment.

    • Three programs inspired by traditional Gurukulam methods have already begun:

      • Sishu Vatika – Daily Gurukul for young children (15 students).

      • Weekend Gurukul – Skill-based learning in pottery, silambam, farming, and more (20 children weekly).

      • Village Study Center – First center launched in Oct 2025, with plans to expand to four additional villages.

    • Jnanagni Trust sees immense potential for Sree Gurukulam to grow into a model Gurukulam for Tamil Nadu, integrating cultural values with strong educational foundations.

Initiative #2 - Vizhudhugal Vergalai Nokki

"Towards Strong Roots": Immersive program designed to reconnect children with India’s spiritual and cultural legacy.

Annual Highlights

  • 2019: 150 students – Aiyavoo Mahal, Aminjikarai, Chennai

    • Speakers: Mr. Ramkumar, others

  • 2020: 750 students – DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai

    • Topic: “Mahabharata is a Reality”

    • Exhibition, interactive sessions, cultural games

    • Speakers: Mr. Prakash, Mr. Ramkumar, Mr. Rajan (Archaeologist)

  • 2024: 700 students from 15+ schools – Aiyavoo Mahal, Aminjikarai, Chennai

    • Theme: Ramayana (aligned with Ram Janmabhoomi Prathistha)

    • Exhibition, drawing, and speaking competitions

    • Published a booklet with Ramajanma Bhoomi facts

    • Speaker: Mr. Ramachandran (Samskritha Bharathi)

  • 2025: 1,450 students from 80+ schools & colleges – Shrivaaru Venkataachalapathy Palace, Vanagaram, Chennai | Aug 22, 2025

    • Theme: KALAM 2047 – Civic & Cultural Youth Festival
      Inspired by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s vision for India@100

    • Competitions & Activities:

      • Leadership & Public Policy (Model Governance, Manifesto Creation, Civic Idea Pitching)

      • Arts & Expression (Speech, Essay, Poetry, Street Play, Dance)

      • Science & Innovation (Model Expo, Idea Presentations)

      • Group competitions, cultural showcases, and interactive learning zones

    • Participants:

      • 1,450 students | 80+ schools and colleges

    • Speakers / Guests:

      • Shri Rama Srinivasan, ED, IDBI, State General Secretary, BJP

      • Shri B. Prakash, Head, RSS Outreach, Dakshin Bharat

    • Highlights:

      • Science Expo became the most engaging segment

      • Street Play received exceptional appreciation

      • 100+ prizes worth ₹2 Lakhs distributed

      • Rolling Shields were awarded to:

        • Muthukumarasamy College – Overall Performance & Maximum Participation

        • DAV Schools – Overall Performance & Maximum Participation

      • 45+ buses coordinated

      • 100+ volunteers
